Bansuri: Indian Classical and Beyond

The Bansuri lessons are designed to guide students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, through a comprehensive journey of Indian classical music and beyond.

The lessons begin with fundamental techniques, including proper flute holding, major scale exercises, and finger practice. Students will explore essential ragas such as Bhupali, Khamaj, Des, Shivranjani, and Durga, gradually mastering both basic and advanced compositions. As students advance, the focus shifts to refining breath control and finger movements, allowing for the performance of intricate classical compositions and devotional Kirtans. Emphasis is placed on step-by-step learning and extensive practice to build confidence and proficiency. Students will learn to play with metronomes and rhythm instruments, enhancing their timing and rhythmic skills.

The lessons include downloadable PDF sheets to support practice and performance, and a deep dive into Indian classical music theory to enrich understanding. By the end of the lessons, students will be equipped with the skills to perform various ragas and Indian songs with technical precision and musical expressiveness.
