Heider Kamal
Expert in Harmonium, Sitar, and Afghan Classical Music
Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1949, Heider Kamal discovered his passion for music during his school years. Under the guidance of Ustad Rahimgul in Kabul, he developed a strong foundation in Afghan classical music. He furthered his studies in sitar and singing at the renowned Bhatkandy Music College in India, where he honed his skills and deepened his musical knowledge.
Professional Musical Journey
Heider Kamal’s musical journey has seen him perform in numerous concerts and collaborate with esteemed musicians. His notable collaborations include working with Grandmaster Kamalesh Maitra’s Ragatala Ensemble, where he blended Indian and Western instruments to create unique musical experiences.
At the Global Music School, Heider Kamal offers lessons in harmonium, sitar, Afghan classical singing, and folk music. His teaching approach is rooted in his extensive experience and deep understanding of music, allowing students to explore and master these traditional instruments and styles. He is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich musical heritage of Afghanistan while inspiring a new generation of musicians.
