From Basics to Mastery

Our Kathak classes focus on the Lucknow style, known for its physicality, body control, endurance, and complex footwork. You’ll combine classical technique with improvisation exercises.

Designed for children who naturally love to move, this course introduces the basics of Kathak in a fun, playful way. Children will engage in movement exercises that improve posture, coordination, and social skills while enjoying a structured yet playful learning environment.

Kathak for Adolescents: This course caters to adolescents with the capacity for more complex choreography and sequences. Participants will learn foundational Kathak techniques and explore the classical repertoire of the Lucknow, combining classical exercises, improvisation, and choreography.

Kathak for Adults – Beginners: Kathak is accessible to adults of all ages and fitness levels. This course introduces dance as a way to explore physical and emotional well-being. Beginners, regardless of prior experience, will learn the basics of Kathak while improving balance, self-awareness, and overall health.

Kathak for Adults – Intermediate Level: For those with at least two years of Kathak experience, this course deepens technical, musical, and theoretical knowledge. Participants will refine their skills, learn advanced sequences and choreographies, and expand their understanding of Kathak’s philosophy, mythology, and music.

    Preserving the Essence of Kathak

    Megha Ayachit, a dedicated Kathak dancer, began her journey under the esteemed guidance of Guru Vidushi Poorna Acharya in Bengaluru. Over five transformative years, she mastered the intricate footwork, expressive gestures, and rhythmic storytelling that define Kathak, developing both technical prowess and a deep appreciation for the dance’s spiritual essence. Her time in Bengaluru was marked by active participation in workshops and performances, which enriched her experience.

    Transition to Berlin and Teaching

    Upon relocating to Berlin to pursue an academic career in science, Megha remained committed to Kathak. She began teaching beginners, creating classes that are both welcoming and accessible. Her approach focuses on foundational aspects of the dance form while fostering self-expression and creativity.

    Commitment to Cultural Legacy

    Driven by her belief in the transformative power of dance, Megha strives to instill a love for Kathak in her students. Through her teaching, she aims to preserve the legacy of Kathak, enriching her students’ lives and ensuring that this traditional art form continues to thrive in the modern world.
