Mizgina Rengin
Kurdish Singer & Vocal Coach in Berlin
Mizgina Rengin is a Kurdish singer, vocal coach, and performing artist based in Berlin, Germany. Her music builds bridges between cultures, blending Kurdish and Turkish song traditions with elements of world music, overtone singing, jazz, and classical vocal art.
Born in Batman, Turkey (1977), Mizgina grew up surrounded by Kurdish music and storytelling. In 1996, she moved to Germany, where she later trained as an educator and earned the Musik.Welt certificate at the University of Hildesheim (2017), specializing in music in intercultural education.
As a self-taught musician, Mizgina has created a unique vocal style that connects Middle Eastern melodies with contemporary expression. Since 2011, she has performed internationally and participated in projects like Orkestra Crosscultura, focusing on improvisation and intercultural collaboration. Her socially engaged music work includes refugee choir projects and community singing initiatives such as Sing mit mir (2017, in collaboration with the State Music Council NRW).
From 2019 to 2020, she toured nine Latin American countries, offering concerts and vocal workshops that celebrated diversity and human connection through song.
Now living in Berlin, Mizgina studies Theater and Film Studies at the Free University of Berlin and takes part in the Art in Context program at the Berlin University of the Arts.
Her mission as a vocal teacher is to share the emotional power of Kurdish and Turkish music, guiding individuals and groups to discover their authentic voice and connect through singing, improvisation, and community choirs.
