We had a lot of fun at the gamelan workshop last April, held as part of the GMA’s Open Door event (read more about it in the News section of our website). Encouraged by the positive feedback, we are happy to offer a family workshop for Javanese gamelan where children (aged 9 and above) and their parents can bond over learning a new music.

This workshop, led by GMA teacher Xin Wei, is conducted over 2 days, for 3 hours a day. It is for adults, with a maximum of 11 participants to ensure a focused and immersive experience.

On Thursday, October 16, we hosted a beautiful concert titled A Night of Longing – Turkish Pop Legends, in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute.
The evening featured classics of Turkish pop, celebrating the works of legendary artists such as Kayahan, Sezen Aksu, Barış Manço, and many more.
On Friday, September 12, the 10th Harzer Kiezfest took place from 2 to 6 p.m. on Elsenstraße. At the same time, nahkauf celebrated its 20th anniversary – and by late afternoon, the place was really packed. On this special evening, the great classics of Turkish pop will take center stage. For the first time the Global Music Academy and the Yunus Emre Enstitüsü are co-operating to present an evening of unforgettable hits and cult songs from Turkey in Berlin.
