Sritharan Niranjan-Schwaab
Bharatanatyam Artist and Educator
Sritharan Niranjan-Schwaab completed his Bharatanatyam training under Guru Diana Rathish in 2013 and began teaching at her dance school the same year. Bharatanatyam is a classical Indian dance form known for its intricate footwork and expressive gestures. He continued his studies in India and, in 2019, earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Bharatanatyam from the Oriental Fine Arts Academy of London (OFAAL). His diploma focused on “Hasta Prayogam,” the art of using hand gestures in Bharatanatyam, and he was honored with the title “Nattiya Kala Ratnam,” recognizing his expertise in the field.
Performances and Contributions
Sritharan has participated in various dance projects and performed on stages in Germany, England, and Switzerland alongside other artists. His extensive experience includes both performing and teaching Bharatanatyam. Notably, one of his long-time students made a successful Bharatanatyam debut in April 2024.
In addition to his dance career, Sritharan works as a special needs teacher and psychomotor therapist. He regularly offers exercise programs for individuals with physical and mental disabilities and integrates his dance expertise into these sessions, enriching the therapeutic experience.
