Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu’s work delves into the realms of play, improvisation, and experimental practices, as well as reinterpreting traditional musical styles. Her artistic endeavors include solo performances and collaborative projects that blend electroacoustic compositions with innovative installation works.
Academic and Professional Background
She completed her Ph.D. in 2022 at ITU MIAM, focusing on collaborative improvisation, and has a rich academic history in both European art music and Turkish makam music. Her Master’s degree, obtained at ITU TMDK, concentrated on Tanbur-i Cemil Bey and the Time Perception Analysis of his Taksims. In addition to her research, she has served as a research and teaching assistant for eight years, contributing significantly to the field of music theory and composition. Her ongoing contributions as a cellist, composer, and improviser reflect her deep engagement with contemporary music.
