Discover the captivating art of storytelling through Classical Indian Dance Theatre! In our six-hour workshop, you will immerse yourself in the world of Abhinaya – the art of expressing emotions through movement. You will learn how to bring stories to life using hand gestures, eye -and head movements. Experience the powerful impact of these forms of expression on the art of storytelling and find an outer expression for your inner experiences.
This workshop is designed for beginners as well as those looking to deepen their skills in Classical Indian Dance Theatre and enhance their expressive abilities in Abhinaya. Let yourself be inspired! This workshop will be led by Eva Isolde Balzer, a dedicated theater and Bharatanatyam artist with over 20 years of experience. She has co-created and performed more than 40 transcultural theater pieces, which blend cultural elements, as well as classical Bharatanatyam performances and contemporary dance-theater pieces that explore the language and expression of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form known for its expressive gestures.
